Bundesliga outfit Energie Cottbus have completed the signing of Serbian midfielder Ivica Iliev.

Bundesliga outfit Energie Cottbus have completed the signing of Serbian midfielder Ivica Iliev.

The 28-year-old, who was released by Paok Saloniki in the summer, has been handed a one-year deal at the Friendship Stadium with the option of a further three years should he impress in the coming season.

"Ivica Iliev is a further alternative for our offensive department. He has made an extremely good impression during his trial period earlier this week," Energie general manager Steffen Heidrich said.

Cottbus coach Bojan Prasnikar will hope that the former Partizan Belgrade, Genoa and Messina player will help give his front line some extra punch in what is expected to be another battle against relegation in the coming months.
