Hannover are keen for their in-form striker Mohammed Abdellaoue to sign a new deal with the club.
The Bundesliga outfit are hopeful the 25-year-old Norwegian will remain at the AWD-Arena and are planning talks with the player who scored a hat-trick for Die Roten in their dramatic 3-2 victory against Werder Bremen on Sunday.
Club chairman Martin Kind wants to use the international break to discuss a new contract with the former Valerenga star, who took his tally of goals for the current campaign to six in just five appearances.
The win lifted Mirko Slomka's side up to fourth in the table, but all the talk is about keeping impressive Abdellaoue, who still has another two-and-a-half years to run on his current contract.

And Kind admitted that talks are essential if the club hope to progress, saying: "That has got to be our aim.
"Maybe the break for international matches is just the right time for us to draw up a schedule, but we are not under any pressure.
"He is a great lad and a fantastic player. He is not for sale.
"If possible, we would like to tie him down to Hannover in the long term."
But Kind is aware that the club may struggle to keep hold of the player, especially if he continues his scoring form, adding: "It will be the market which decides that.
"We will not be able to decide it."
