Bundesliga: Roberto Di Matteo impressed by Schalke's potential

Roberto Di Matteo believes Schalke are among the best clubs in the world, but he knows he will not be given much time to prove it.
Since taking charge of the Royal Blues, Di Matteo has won all three of his games at home, but lost all three away.
He is aware of how short the Gelsenkirchen club's patience can be, but equally aware of the size of the club he is currently coaching.
"Of course, I got a lot of information about Schalke and, for me, they belong in 12th or 13th place in the world," he told the Bild am Sonntag newspaper.
They are currently only 11th in the Bundesliga and the 44-year-old knows he has got to take them up the standings as quickly as possible.
"In modern football, there are only a few exceptions where coaches have spent a long time at a club and are really afforded that time," he said.
"We all know that time is in short supply nowadays."
On the other hand, Di Matteo will give plenty of time to Kevin-Prince Boateng to rediscover his form after a dip.
The Ghana international is a shadow of the player who helped the club qualify for the Champions League last season, but Di Matteo is not going to give up on him.
"Like many other players, he just needs time to find his rhythm again," Di Matteo said.
"You can't just click your fingers and be back to your best overnight. First and foremost, he needs to find the balance and condition to be able to perform the way we expect him to."
