Full-back a target for Polish title challengers
Werder Bremen defender Sebastian Boenisch is a transfer target of Polish title challengers Polonia Warszaw.
The Polish-born former Germany Under 21 international has six months remaining on his current contract and could leave for free in the summer.
Boenisch, who in 2010 decided to represent Poland at senior international level, has also seen his career disrupted by injury and in the past two years has been unavailable for 16 months.
But the full-back is a target for Polonia and club patron Jozef Wojciechowski has confirmed the 25-year-old is a wanted man, with three weeks remaining of the Polish transfer window.
Wojciechowski told
Przeglad Sportowy: "I can confirm we are interested in signing of Sebastian Boenisch.
"He is a quality player. He would definitely help our team to succeed in the title race."
