Saarbrucken boss expects striker to leave on a free

1. FC Saarbrucken manager Jurgen Luginger is resigned to losing striker Johannes Wurtz amid reports he has signed a pre-contract agreement with Werder Bremen. The 19-year-old is expected to join Werder in the summer on a two-year deal, although the Bundesliga club are yet to confirm his signature. Luginger insists the club did everything to keep the rising talent at the club, however, it was always going to be a losing battle once a Bundesliga club came knocking. "1. FC Saarbrucken did everything to keep Johannes Wurtz a player of the club, to see Jojo (Johannes Wurtz) going on with his career at this club," told Saarbrucker Zeitung. "Anyway, if there is a top-flight outfit joining the race then the cards are pretty stacked against you."
