EFFE SIDELINED - AGAIN
STEFAN EFFENBERG'S injury jinx has struck again with the Bayern Munich captain picking up a foot problem during Saturday's 0-0 draw with Nurnberg.
Effe is expected to be out for two weeks and will miss Bayern's Intercontinental Cup clash with Boca Juniors in Tokyo.
Alexander Zickler will also miss the trip to Japan after suffering a bout of flu prior to the Nurnberg game.
Meanwhile, Munich coach Ottmar Hitzfeld has hit out at the competition between the Champions League victors and South American champions, claiming it is not important.
"This tournament is important only for the South Americans, not for us at all," said the former Maths teacher.
