Meanwhile, German media reports have heightened speculation that South American defenders Lucio and Diego Placente could also join the BayArena exodus.

Real Madrid are reported to be chasing Brazilian Lucio, whilst Juventus coach Marcello Lippi is said to be keen on Argentine left back Placente.
