Bayern Munich star Franck Ribery does not want to discuss his future until the end of the season.
Playmaker wants to focus on football
Bayern Munich director of sport Christian Nerlinger has revealed that Franck Ribery does not want to discuss his future until the end of the season.
The playmaker, who is valued at around €50million (£45.5m), is out of contract in the summer of 2011 and Bayern have therefore been desperate for a decision on his plans.
Bayern do not want to risk letting Ribery leave as a free agent and so would sell the Frenchman at the end of this season if he is not prepared to extend his deal.
But Nerlinger has been told by the 26-year-old that any talks can wait until this summer in order to avoid distractions.
"I brought up the subject with him yesterday and asked him where he imagined playing in the future," said Nerlinger on Sunday.
"He answered that he just wants to concentrate on his football for the next few weeks.
"I am fully appreciative, we are able to talk to him regarding the new deal at the end of the season."
