Arjen Robben is refusing to write off Inter Milan's chance of coming back against Bayern Munich

Bayern ace expecting Italian backlash in Germany

Arjen Robben is refusing to write off Inter Milan's chance of coming back against Bayern Munich despite their 1-0 win at Giuseppe Meazza. Louis van Gaal's side were the better team on the night in their UEFA Champions League last-16 clash and triumphed thanks to Mario Gomez's late effort. Gomez was on hand to slot home their last-gasp winner after Julio Cesar failed to hold onto Robben's long-range drive. Robben was delighted with Bayern's performance in Milan, although he knows Leonardo's men will still be a force to reckoned with at the Allianz Arena in the second leg.

Difficult

"It was a very good game to watch," he told Sky Sports. "I think it's always difficult after the game. "I think we were the better team and deserved to win. I think that's a credit to us. We tried to play the ball around. "You have to wait for the next chance. I still had the feeling that towards the end that time for a moment would come. In the end it came. We did well. "You can't compare it. It's a one-off match. We won this game, but I'd prefer to win the other one. We have to move forward and forget about it. "Tonight was very important. We played a good game. They are still in it. They are Italian and very dangerous. We cannot rest."
Most important
Match-winner Gomez was delighted with his strike, labelling the goal his 'most important' Champions League goal. "That was certainly my most important goal in the Champions League," he said. "When you score a goal just before the end, which seals an away win, that is, of course, very nice. "We fought for everything, everything at the back, everything up front and we were rewarded at the end."
