Bayer Leverkusen have made it clear they have no intention of selling Arturo Vidal after reportedly rejecting a bid from Bayern Munich.
The Chile midfielder has been linked with a move to the Bavarians since it was announced that former Leverkusen boss Jupp Heynckes would become Louis van Gaal's full-time successor at the start of July.
Bayern are now reported to have made an offer of around €10million (£8.8m) which was turned down by Leverkusen.
Italian club Napoli are also thought to be interested in Vidal but Leverkusen football director Rudi Voller hopes to keep the 24-year-old.
Voller told
Kicker magazine: "Our principle is that Arturo is too important to us and we want to keep him in any case, whether the offers come from Munich or Napoli, they are not high enough to force us into a rethink."
Usami hope
Bayern are also rumoured to be chasing Manchester City defender Jerome Boateng, while chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge is also confident that they will complete the signing of Japan midfielder Takashi Usami from Gamba Osaka.
He told
Kicker: "It looks good."
Bayern have already signed goalkeeper Manuel Neuer on a five-year deal from Schalke with Energie Cottbus striker Nils Petersen and Genoa defender Rafinha also moving to the Allianz Arena.
