Midfielder Thiago Alcantara has signed a two-year contract extension with German champions Bayern Munich, keeping him at the club until 2019.
Thiago's current contract was due to run out in 2017 after signing from Barcelona in 2013.
The 24-year-old Spain international made his comeback from a knee injury in April this year which sidelined him for much of last season.
Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said: "We are happy that Thiago decided to stay at Bayern for the long term.
"He is young and an important player for the future of the club."
Thiago followed his former manager Pep Guardiola in moving to the club from Barcelona and his since made 41 appearances in all competitions, including both of Bayern's Bundesliga games this season, as the club chases a record fourth straight league title.
