Veteran centre-back taking time over injury return
Bayer Leverkusen defender Sami Hyypia believes it would be 'stupid' for him to rush back into first-team football after a foot injury.
The decorated former Liverpool centre-back was ruled out for several weeks at the end of October having damaged ligaments in his left foot.
Hyypia is now back in training, but the 37-year-old does not want to return to match action in a hurry.
He told
BILD: "I am now back in training. The left foot feels alright, but we have to monitor that.
"I do not believe I am going to hurry into a comeback without catching up the necessary fitness. Nothing would be more stupid."
