Cottbus denied first win, Hannover climb table

Energie Cottbus remain bottom of the Bundesliga following a 2-2 draw with Eintracht Frankfurt, while Hannover climbed to seventh with a 2-1 victory over Duisburg. Bojan Prasnikar saw his Cottbus side make the perfect start in his first game in charge, as Dimitar Rangelov scored twice in the opening 20 minutes. However, Ioannis Amanatidis pulled a goal back for Frankfurt three minutes into the second half and then equalised from the penalty spot in the 79th minute to deny Cottbus their first win of the season. Cottbus at least closed the gap on those immediately above them to three points, with Duisburg slipping to defeat at Hannover. Christian Schulz's opener (8) for the home side was cancelled out by Mohammadou Idrissou (20), but he found the net for a second time in the 64th minute to take Hannover up three places.
