Leverkusen boss wants defender to remain at club
Rudi Voller has reiterated his desire to keep Germany international defender Stefan Reinartz at Bayer Leverkusen.
The general manager has rubbished recent reports linking the 21-year-old with a move to Bundesliga rivals Hamburg.
The Nordbank Arena outfit have reportedly shown an interest in the youngster for some time and could be ready to table a bid in the region of £6.5million for the youngster following the club's recent sale of Jerome Boateng to Manchester City.
Voller told
Bild: "This is something which I can rule out completely. I am a big fan of Reinartz and he has a contract at our club.
"There is no chance he will be leaving for any other club this summer."
The former Germany manager is adamant that Reinartz will be going nowhere and is willing to tie down the player, who came through the ranks at the BayArena to a new contract.
"We are willing to discuss new terms with the player," said Voller. "We want to tie him down to a new long-term deal with our club."
Reinartz is currently contracted to Leverkusen until 2012, and made his only international appearance for Germany in the friendly against Malta back in May.
