Left-sided player pours cold water on Wolfsburg link

Marcell Jansen insists he has no desire to leave Hamburg this summer. The 25-year-old wing-back has been linked with a move to Bundesliga rivals Wolfsburg in the past week. The Germany international has just come through an injury-hit season which saw him score twice in 16 league appearances. But Jansen, who has two years to run on his Hamburg contract, claims he is happy to remain at the Imtech Arena. "I am not eager to move on, I am not on the run," he told BILD. "I am contracted to Hamburg and I am looking forward to playing for the club next season." Despite the reported interest, Jansen's agent, Gerd vom Bruch, insists there have been no firm approaches as yet and no indication that the club are looking to sell the left-sided player. "There is no truth in these rumours," he added.

No bids

"There has been no incoming bid and we have not received anything from Hamburg that could be seen as a request to move on." Jansen joined Hamburg on a five-year contract in 2008 having had an unsuccessful year at Bayern Munich after earning a move to the German giants from Borussia Monchengladbach.
