Wolfsburg boss will speak to star striker about his angry reaction

Steve McClaren has played down the significance of Edin Dzeko's angry reaction to being withdrawn on Saturday. The Bosnian striker was substituted with two minutes remaining in Wolfsburg's 0-0 draw with Werder Bremen at the weekend. He was clearly disappointed to have been taken off, despite having missed a crucial penalty in the game, and made his feelings known to his manager as he left the field. Dzeko failed to acknowledge McClaren's outstretched hand as he departed and headed straight for the dressing room rather than take a place on the bench. His act of petulance has raised further question marks as to his long-term future at the club, with reports continuing to link him with a host of top sides, but McClaren insists people are reading too much into the incident. On Dzeko's reaction, he told the club's official website: "I can understand it. Football is a sport where there are lots of emotions and you have to manage them. "It's something we'll resolve internally."

Trialist

Meanwhile, McClaren has revealed that he is yet to make a decision on Bosnian trialist Aldin Cajic. "He is on trial with our club but so far I have only been able to watch him for about 30 minutes," said the former England boss. "I will need to look at him in further training sessions in order to identify whether he can be a good player for us." Cajic is an 18-year-old midfielder who is currently on the books of Czech outfit FK Teplice.
