Wolfsburg have announced the signing of Switzerland U21 midfielder Francisco Rodriguez on a three-year deal.

The 19-year-old makes the move from FC Zurich to join older brother Ricardo at the Wolves.

"Francisco is a young player with the potential to develop further. He fits perfectly into our requirement profile and can now take the next step with us," Wolfsburg coach Dieter Hecking told the club's official website.

Wolfsburg coach Dieter Hecking says Man City target Kevin De Bruyne is going nowhere this summer.

Rodriguez himself added: "I am really delighted that the transfer to Wolfsburg has worked out.

"VfL have made some major developments in recent years and I can get to prove myself at the very highest level here. Aside from that, it's a dream come true for me to play in a team together with my brother."

The younger Rodriguez made 28 appearances and scored twice for Zurich in the Swiss Super League last season, while also playing six times in the Europa League.
