Borussia Dortmund have expressed delight at completing the signing of Tinga.
Borussia Dortmund have expressed delight at completing the signing of Brazilian midfielder Tinga.The 28-year-old has arrived in Dortmund from Porto Alegre, after the German outfit tabled a é¼3 million (£2 million) bid.
Tinga has inked a three-year deal and Dortmund are expecting big things from the Samba star.
"We are delighted that we have reached agreement as he will give our team a new qualitative edge," Dortmund sport director Michael Zorc commented.
Tinga, who signed off on a high at Porto Alegre by helping them win the Copa Libertadores, is looking forward to his new challenge.
"Dede has raved to me about Dortmund and BVB. I am really looking forward to Borussia Dortmund and the fans," said Tinga.
Tinga is the fourth major signing for the 1997 European champions this summer following Alexander Frei (Stade Rennes), Nelson Valdez (Werder Bremen) and Steven Pienaar (Ajax) as coach Bert van Marwijk attempts to build a squad capable of winning a European berth again this term.
Delron Buckley is heading back to Dortmund following a spell training with Sheffield United.
The South African has also attracted interest from Everton and is believed to have impressed while in England.
The winger is keen to secure a move, but has returned to Germany while he awaits developments.
