McClaren loses again; Hannover draw 2-2; Frankfurt cruise to victory

Borussia Dortmund made it back-to-back league triumphs to ensure that Steve McClaren's wait for a first league win in charge of Wolfsburg goes on. Nuri Sahin broke the deadlock five minutes after the half-time interval before Shinji Kagawa doubled their lead to seal a three-point haul. Hannover and Bayer Leverkusen played out an exciting four-goal thriller which ended in a 2-2 stalemate. The home side at the AWD-Arena were reduced to 10 men when former Middlesbrough defender Emanuel Pogatetz was sent off in the first half after Didier Jonan had put them in front. Mohamed Abdellaoui put Hannover two ahead but Leverkusen rallied to grab a point as Eren Derdiyok scored before Patrick Helmes netted in the 90th minute. Eintracht Frankfurt recorded their first win of the new season in emphatic style as they cruised to a 4-0 triumph over Borussia Monchengladbach. Benhami Kohler opened the scoring on 24 minutes, Theofanis Gekas netted a brace while Patrick Ochs was also on target for Frankfurt. Freiburg emerged as 2-1 winners in their fixture against Stuttgart as goals from Papiss Cisse and Julian Schuster cancelled out Pavel Pogrebnyak's opener. Javier Pinola's 82nd minute penalty salvaged a point for Nurnberg against Hamburg, who had gone in front through Joris Mathijsen. In Saturday's evening game, Bayern Munich and Werder Bremen played out a goalless draw at the Allianz Arena.
