Egyptian admits he may look elsewhere for first-team football

Egypt international striker Mohamed Zidan has confessed he fears for his first-team opportunities at Borussia Dortmund next season. The Bundesliga champions have finally completed the signing of Croatia international forward Ivan Perisic from Club Brugge. And Zidan, 29, who missed most of the last 18 months due to a cruciate ligament injury and is only under contract until next June, is aware there will be increased competition for places. He told BILD: "Borussia will have a bigger variety of options up front due to the arrival of Ivan Perisic. That is a fact. "I want to play as much as possible. I want to be in the starting line-up as often as I can. "If this does not work at Borussia Dortmund, it will work elsewhere." Last week Dortmund agreed to loan defender Lasse Sobiech to relegated St Pauli for the duration of next season.
