Eintracht Frankfurt have parted company with coach Armin Veh following a 1-1 draw to Ingolstadt on Saturday which left the Hessian club inside the Bundesliga's bottom three.

Veh, who only returned to the club last summer a year after leaving to join Stuttgart, has been unable to repeat his success from his last spell at the club, when he led them to promotion from the second division and then into the Europa League.

"It was a very hard decision for us to take because Armin Veh has enjoyed our faith until recently," said Frankfurt's chairman Heribert Bruchhagen on his club's website.

"We nevertheless wanted to give the team an important shove with this change in coach, so that we will stay up.

"Eintracht Frankfurt thank Armin Veh for his work."

With nine games of the season to go, Frankfurt are in the relegation play-off berth, just three points above the relegation zone and one from safety.
