Bayern stay top despite not playing
Arminia Bielefeld, Bochum and Eintracht Frankfurt all lost their unbeaten records in the Bundesliga.
With leaders Bayern Munich, who boast the only 100 per cent record in the top flight, not in action until Sunday, there was an opportunity for a brief change at the top.
But no clubs were able to take advantage as
Arminia lost 3-0 at
Duisburg following a devastating six-minute spell in the second half.
Thiago Maicon put Duisburg in front on 64 minutes and Manasseh Ishiaku added a quick-fire double (68 & 70) to seal the win.
Bochum were edged out in a five-goal thriller at
Hannover, going down 3-2 after battling back from 2-0 down.
Mike Hanke put Hannover ahead on 12 minutes and Jan Rosenthal added a second goal on 36 minutes.
Tommy Bechmann pulled one back a minute before half-time, and Marcel Matritz levelled from the penalty spot on 66 minutes.
But five minutes later substitute Vahid Hashemian pounced to give Hannover the points.
Late winner
Frankfurt lost for the first time this season after slipping to a 2-1 defeat at
Werder Bremen.
Boubacar Sanogo scored on 32 minutes and Petri Pasanen on 79 minutes for Bremen before Frankfurt notched an 85th minute consolation through Michael Thurk.
Solomon Okoronkwo scored two minutes from full-time to hand
Hertha Berlin a 2-1 win at home to
Wolfsburg.
Marko Pantelic had earlier put Hertha ahead on 38 minutes before Ashkan Dejageh equalised for Wolfsburg on 61 minutes.
Giovanni's 76th minute goal was enought to present
Borussia Dortmund with the points at
Hansa Rostock, who have lost all four games.
Ten-man
Nurnberg battled to a 1-1 draw at
Energie Cottbus courtesy of Andreas Wolf's equaliser five minutes from time.
Dennis Sorensen put Cottbus ahead from the penalty spot on 15 minutes before Nurnberg had Robert Vittek sent off.
