Albertz in Germany link
Former Rangers star Jorge Albertz is set to return to Germany from Shanghai Shenhua.
Speculation in the German media suggests that former Rangers star Jorg Albertz is keen to return to his native country despite a successful spell in China with Shanghai Shenhua.
'Der Hammer' was spotted in the stands of ambitious second division side Alemannia Aachen when Dieter Hecking's team won 4-0 over league rivals Karlsruhe last weekend, and German TV station Premier reports that the powerful midfielder is set to open talks with Alemannia.
Aachen will play in the Uefa Cup this season courtesy of finishing runners-up to Bundesliga Champions Werder Bremen in the German Cup final and would like to sign an experienced midfielder who could help fill the gap left by Kalle Phlipsen, who has moved to 1860 Munich.
Albertz, who earned three caps for Germany, started his career in the Bundesliga with Fortuna Dusseldorf and Hamburg, but made his name when playing for Rangers.
In a é¼5 million move he left Ibrox for Hamburg's AOL-Arena in 2002, but failed to settle in under then-HSV boss Kurt Jara and finally opted to move to China in order to get his career back on track.
