Iwelumo up for grabs
Chris Iwelumo has left Alemania Aachen and is targeting a move to The Championship.
Former Stoke and Brighton striker Chris Iwelumo has left German outfit Alemania Aachen to return to English football.Iwelumo, 26, joined Aachen last summer after helping Brighton achieve promotion to The Championship.
Iwelumo tasted Uefa Cup action in Germany and managed four goals during his time at the Bundesliga Zwei outfit.
However, he has opted to return to England due to family reasons and is now looking to fix himself up with a new club.
The Scot currently has offers on the table from clubs in League One, but is hoping to try and secure the chance to play in The Championship.
"It was a great year in Germany and I enjoyed it," he told skysports.com.
"I learned a lot although I was mainly coming off the bench which obviously made it difficult.
"Because of family reasons I decided to move back, but the club were very gracious about it and we agreed to annul my contract.
"I've got a lot League One clubs interested in me, but obviously The Championship is where I want to be playing and I feel I can do a job at that level.
"I have full confidence in my capabilities and believe as I am on a free transfer someone might well want to take a chance."
