McClaren secures versatile midfielder
FC Twente manager Steve McClaren is delighted to have completed the signing of Ronnie Stam from NAC Breda.
The defender is understood to have signed a four-year contract as Twente attempt to improve on last season's fourth-placed Eredivisie finish.
Twente have been keen to secure the services of Stam for the majority of the summer and McClaren has pointed to the 24-year-old's versatility as a crucial factor.
"We are very glad to add this young player to our squad. He is able to play in defence and midfield," McClaren told Twente's
official website.
Stam is viewed as a replacement for Luke Wilkshire, who moved to Dynamo Moscow last week.
