AZ Alkmaar, Heerenveen and NEC Nijmegen win

AZ Alkmaar went three points clear at the top of the Eredivisie thanks to Ari's second-half goal against Feyenoord. Second-placed Ajax had drawn level thanks to a 3-0 victory over NAC Breda on Friday. But Louis van Gaal's side moved out in front on their own again, and heaped further woe on under-performing and injury-hit Feyenoord in the process. Heerenveen moved up to fourth in the table after a first-half Roy Beerens brace secured a home victory over De Graafschap. Beerens struck in the 14th and 23rd minute to give his side their second win in a row and maintain their push for Europe. It was De Graafschap's first defeat in four games to keep them in the bottom three. NEC Nijmegen survived a late fightback from Willem II to claim all three points with a 2-1 win in Tilburg. Jhonny van Beukering had given the visitors the lead in the first half and Rachid Bouaouzan doubled the advantage after the break before Rens van Eijden pulled a goal back for the home side. ADO Den Haag and Roda remain in the bottom five after sharing the spoils in a 1-1 draw at Het Zuiderpark. In what was billed as a "must-win game" by both coaches before kick-off, Karim Soltani put the hosts ahead after 35 minutes but they were pegged back before the break by Marcel Meeuwis.
