Vitesse left it late to stretch their unbeaten run in the Eredivisie to eight games, scoring twice inside the last 20 mintes to seal a 3-1 win over AZ Alkmaar.

Chelsea loanee Bertrand Traore got the home side off to a flying start, pouncing on a poor Wesley Hoedt clearance to fire the ball into the net after just seven minutes..

However, Alkmaar equalised a minute later as Steven Berguis tapped home from close range after Eloy Room could only parry Simon Poulsen’s long-range effort.

Peter Bosz’s side were handed the chance to restore their lead in the 73rd minute when the referee pointed to spot after Marko Vejinovic was pulled back in the box.

The winger had no hesitation in taking the spot-kick and sent Esteban Alvarado the wrong way to put his side back in front.

Vitesse put the result beyond doubt in added time through Valeri Kazaishvili’s strike and move up to sixth in the table, while AZ stay in fourth.
