Eredivisie round-up

AZ Alkmaar have won only once in six Eredivisie matches as they were held to a late draw at NAC Breda.

VVV score three times in the opening 16 minutes

AZ Alkmaar have won only once in six Eredivisie matches as they were held to a late draw at NAC Breda, while VVV Venlo won at home against Heerenveen. Defending Dutch champions AZ have experienced a season to forget and boss Dick Advocaat has found life difficult since taking over on an interim basis in December. Going into their match at NAC, they had lost four of their last five league games and a 1-1 win will only add to problems. Defender Niklas Moisander's 75th goal had put AZ in front but Advocaat's side were pegged back in the 90th minute when Kees Kwakman equalised. VVV scored three goals in a blistering opening 16 minutes as they recorded a 3-1 home win over Heerenveen. Ferry de Regt (11), January signing Gonzalo Garcia (14) and Sandro Calabro (16) scored the goals in the space of five minutes to render former Sheffield Wednesday striker Gerald Sibon's 35th minute penalty a mere consolation. The defeat plunged Heerenveen into further problems towards the bottom of the division.
