Reported Premier League target Gregory van der Wiel says winning trophies is his priority as he looks to further his career.
The highly-rated Ajax right-back, capped 21 times for the Netherlands national side, has been linked with the likes of Manchester City and Chelsea, as well as German giants Bayern Munich.
Van der Wiel admits a move away from Amsterdam would be a huge challenge, but has expressed his desire to play and secure silverware at the highest level possible.
He told Fifa's
official website: "I've never left Amsterdam and I don't know what life is like elsewhere.
"It would be a huge challenge, but it ought to work out well, I'm sure of that.
"I want to win trophies, keep progressing and play at the very highest level."
Mistakes
The 23-year-old admits he has made mistakes in the past, and feels being sent away from the Ajax academy in his younger years helped him develop into the player he is today.
He said: "I was acting tough, had a big mouth and I deserved it. At Haarlem, I focused on my game and I calmed down.
"I progressed and I came back here even though I had offers from other teams. This is my club, this is my town and I wanted to show that I'd changed.
"I've grown up, I've matured. I've got used to the lifestyle of a footballer. I take each day as it comes."
Van der Wiel admits he is still hurting from the World Cup final last year, when Holland narrowly missed out to Spain in the final in South Africa.
"To lose like that, four minutes from the end, was so harsh," he added.
"If we'd have gone to penalties, we'd have won it. I still haven't got over that lost final and I won't unless we win the World Cup."
