Leaders AZ Alkmaar were held to a 1-1 draw by Ajax at the AFAs Stadion, while PSV also drew. Rasmus Elm fired AZ in front on 37 minutes, but Simon Poulsen's own goal gifted Ajax a point. PSV Eindhoven missed the chance to capitalise on AZ's draw after being held to a 1-1 draw at FC Utrecht. Stefano Lilipaly threatened to give Utrecht a shock win when he broke the deadlock on 66 minutes, but Ola Toivonen levelled matters five minutes later. VVV Venlo climbed off the bottom of the table after a shock 2-1 win over Feyenoord. Bruno Martins Indi gave Feyenoord the lead on 13 minutes, but VVV Venlo turned the game on its head with two goals before the break from Bryan Linssen (40) and Ismo Vorstermans (45). NEC Nijmegen boosted their survival hopes with a 1-0 win at fierce rivals Vitesse Arnhem. Leroy George scored the only goal of the game 15 minutes from time to give NEC their first win at Vitesse since 1979. FC Groningen came from behind to beat Heracles 2-1. Glynor Plet gave Heracles the lead on 16 minutes, but second half goals from David Texeira (48) and Virgil van Dijk (61) earned Groningen the points.
