Young keeper returns to Brazil to recover from injury
Feyenoord have allowed goalkeeper Darley to leave the club and return to Brazil without seeing out the remainder of his contract.
The 21-year-old has not featured for the Rotterdammers this season due to a persistent hip injury.
Darley's deal expires at the end of the season and Feyenoord have allowed the keeper to return to his homeland for surgery on the problem.
The club's technical director Martin van Geel says the youngster will not return to Rotterdam.
"There is only a slim chance he will return to action," Van Geel told
AD. "His contract is due to expire and we no longer rely on his return."
The goalkeeper, who arrived at Feyenoord from Atletico Mineiro in August 2009, made just five appearances for the Eredivisie side.
