Waalwijk boss will take charge in Kerkrade
RKC Waalwijk boss Ruud Brood will succeed Harm van Veldhoven as Roda JC manager after penning a two-year deal at the Eredivisie club.
Van Veldhoven has chosen not to extend his contract, which expires in the summer, as he targets a new challenge away from Kerkrade.
Brood has enjoyed surprise success with RKC in the Dutch top-flight this season after leading them to promotion last year, with the club currently eighth in the table.
Roda's technical director Gerard Wielaert is pleased to have secured the signature of the 49-year-old, who took over in Waalwijk in 2008.
"In Ruud we have an ambitious trainer and his contract with Roda JC Kerkrade is the next logical step in his career," Wielaert told the club's
official website.
"He is the type of coach we were looking for. He is proven at getting individual players and teams to function better, is tactically strong and fits perfectly as a person at the club and with the people who work there.
"We wish Ruud every success over the next two seasons."
