Teenage striker Cedric Badjeck has penned his first professional contract at FC Utrecht after coming through the youth ranks.

Young striker Badjeck commits to Utrecht for three years

Teenage striker Cedric Badjeck has put pen to paper on a first professional contract with FC Utrecht after coming through the youth ranks at the Dutch side. Cameroon-born frontman Badjeck is one of Utrecht's biggest young talents, scoring 10 times this season for the Eredivisie club's youth team. The 17-year-old, who has signed a three-year deal, is happy to continue his development at the Stadion Galgenwaard. "I am extremely proud," Badjeck told Sports Promotion. "The atmosphere is really great and you learn every week in training and in matches. "When you get offered a contract it inspires confidence for the future. "So I'm happy to give them my signature. I would like to continue developing at FC Utrecht."

Potential

Utrecht technical director Foeke Booy feels the teenager has plenty of potential. He said: "The club sees a big future for Cedric. He is developing well and if he keeps doing that he might break into the first-team in the future. "Cedric is eager to learn and willing to listen to others. You need those things to make it in football. "The road is still long but for now he is on the right track - hence this contract. We are pleased that we are continuing with him."
