Incident with fans not mentioned in ref's report
Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp will not be charged by UEFA over a gesture made towards Shamrock Rovers fans on Thursday night.
The 64-year-old was subjected to a number of offensive chants throughout the Europa League Group A game at the Tallaght Stadium, which Spurs eventually won 4-0 but still crashed out of the competition.
Redknapp then appeared to be involved in an angry confrontation with a group of home fans at the final whistle.
UEFA confirmed on Friday morning that it would consult reports by the referee and UEFA delegate before making a decision over the alleged offensive gesture made by Redknapp.
However, the incident was not mentioned in either report so the former West Ham and Portsmouth man has no charge to answer.
Played down
Speaking after the game Redknapp had played down the incident, saying: "Did I make an 'obscene' gesture? No, I didn't make... No.
"I have spent enough time in Ireland to know what lovely people they are.
"If you go and meet them afterwards they are probably lovely people. But they get together and shout a load of nonsense and that is football. That's life. I don't hold any grudges."
