Former England boss considering proposal from Persepolis FC
Former England boss Sven Goran Eriksson is considering a proposal to become the next coach of Persepolis FC.
The 63-year-old Swede held talks concerning the proposal on Iran's Kish Island, in the Gulf, on Wednesday night, before flying to Dubai on Thursday, the state news agency IRNA reported.
British newspapers this week reported the struggling Iranian side are looking to spend around £1million ($1.6million, 1.2million euros) to secure Eriksson, who left Leicester City last month by mutual consent.
Following the talks, Persepolis FC president Mohammad Rouyanian said: "He will later announce his decision on our proposal."
Eriksson held the England job from 2001-6 and has since managed Manchester City, Notts County and Leicester City and the national sides of Mexico and Ivory Coast.
