England's famous victory in the 1966 World Cup final will be marked at Wembley on Thursday evening ahead of the pre-Euro 2016 friendly match with Portugal.

The Royal Mint and the Football Association have teamed up to create a £5 coin celebrating the 50th anniversary of the 1966 success.

The coin will be used for the toss ahead of Thursday's match and is available to be purchased, with a donation from sales going to the Bobby Moore Fund.

Moore, who captained Sir Alf Ramsey's side to World Cup glory in 1966, died due to illness in 1993 at the age of 51 and the charity set up in his name supports pioneering research into bowel cancer.

His widow Stephanie Moore said: "I am delighted to have been invited to The Royal Mint to strike the official FA £5 coin to celebrate the 50th anniversary of England winning the World Cup.

"I'm sure Bobby would have been proud to see a coin created in honour of the team, and it's a great way of raising vital funds and awareness of the Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK's work to beat bowel cancer."
