France coach Didier Deschamps has warned his players against any sort of misbehaviour.
Les Bleus' 2010 World Cup and Euro 2012 campaigns were replete with controversies, with the team failing to perform on the pitch on both occasions.
In 2010 players refused to train under then coach Raymond Domenech following the expulsion of striker Nicolas Anelka during the tournament, while in Poland and Ukraine this summer Samir Nasri and Jeremy Menez's behaviour came under scrutiny.
Nasri was banned for three matches by the France FA for his expletive-laden rant at the French press, while Menez was suspended for one game for confrontations with Italian referee Nicola Rizzoli and team-mate Hugo Lloris.
Deschamps, who replaced Laurent Blanc following France's disappointing Euro 2012 campaign, has now insisted that he wants his players to be at their best behaviour.
Ideal behaviour
"I sincerely hope that everyone has a great attitude and behaviour," he told French newspaper
Le Progres.
"I want players to have ideal behaviour. If there are some who have not, it's not me who will punish them - they will condemn themselves.
"The role of any trainer or coach is to define a framework. The better defined that is, the better.
"We must obviously comply, and be very careful. I have told the players about the rules of life, and among the squad, which must be respected.
"There are two important things: the notion of pleasure, to represent France, wearing the shirt; and a parallel, a spirit.
"Being a France international, it must be above everything, even for players who play for big clubs and big games."
