England boss Roy Hodgson says he is looking forward to seeing a young team take on Lithuania

Roy Hodgson is not taking a perfect record in the European Qualifiers for granted as England prepare to play on a surface that could jeopardise their winning run.

Hodgson's men are preparing to face Lithuania at the LFF Stadium in Vilnius having beaten their opponents 4-0 at Wembley in March.

It is a fixture they should win as they look to ensure they complete a full set of 10 victories from their Group E campaign.

Making their task slightly more difficult, however, is an artificial pitch which does not even have an in-built sprinkler system and needs the local fire brigade to come and water it.

Hodgson is not concerned by the surface, having taken Fulham to play there at the start of their 19-match run to the Europa League final in 2009/10 and won 3-0.

He does not take success in the Lithuanian capital as a given, though, and maintains his much-changed side will have to work hard to come out on top.

Just how many changes Hodgson makes to the team which defeated Estonia 2-0 at Wembley on Friday remains to be seen.

Hodgson said: "We're looking forward to it. We've been fortunate in the sense we've come through the match on Friday evening unscathed in terms of injuries.

"I think we have a very interesting team for Phil to lead out - a young team, obviously, but players that we believe in.

"We're very conscious of the fact we could have a perfect record if we win the game but we also know it's not a given we'll win the game.

"We're playing a team that also wants to win and are adept at playing on the surface we'll be playing on Monday evening.

"It's a task ahead of us but we're ready for it, I think, and we're going to do our level best to try and achieve it."
