England goalkeeper Jack Butland will have a scan on his injured ankle after suffering suspected ankle ligament damage against against Germany.
Butland suffered the injury when going to ground to collect the ball in the 41st minute, but pulled up visibly after electing to kick the ball out two minutes later.
The Stoke goalkeeper did not signal to the England bench after sustaining the injury and his poor kick out was pounced upon by Germany, who took the lead through a long-range Toni Kroos shot that beat Butland at his near post.
Butland received treatment on the pitch from England physio Gary Lewin before being carried off on stretcher and was replaced by Southampton goalkeeper Fraser Forster.
England boss Roy Hodgson, who saw his side to on to win the game 3-2, said: "You can never say how bad these are because they need to be assessed. We hope it is not serious but we have to wait."
Butland posted a series of tweets on Sunday.
He wrote: "Firstly, what a night to be involved in! An incredible and much deserved win against the World Cup winners, makes me proud to be English!
"But my nature to not give up was my downfall, the injury I'll recover from but more importantly the experience I'll learn from!
"Thank you for all your messages, I'll be having a scan today to see the damage to my ankle and will work hard to get back fit! Thank you!"
