England boss agrees with Italian opposite number

Fabio Capello agrees with Marcello Lippi with his desire to see England play Italy in the World Cup final. The Three Lions manager, who won more than 30 caps for Italy during his playing days, says a South Africa final between the two sides would suit him fine. Azzurri boss Lippi, who is on good terms with Capello, has questioned whether the England manager would be able to keep his emotions in check if the teams were to clash in this summer's tournament. But Capello says he would look forward to such a fixture. He said: "I'd immediately sign for a final between Italy and England, as Lippi says. "I spoke with him about two weeks ago and we have been really friendly." Capello has been in charge of England since taking the job in December 2007 following the departure of Steve McClaren.

Stadia praise

He has turned England into a strong force since his arrival, and also praised the state of the stadia across the country. "When you talk about differences of football between Italy, Spain and England, it's better starting from the stadia situation," he added. "In Italy they are not owned by clubs and it's the most important thing to be put under evidence. "In Spain all clubs own their stadia, in England too. It's an added value. "In England the danger is very little. You go in the middle of people and nothing happens. Stewards protect you and there is a general sense of responsibility."
