Legend still keen to regain England place
David Beckham admits he doubted if he would play again after making his comeback for Los Angeles Galaxy.
The England international made his return to action on Saturday after six months on the sidelines following a ruptured Achilles tendon whilst playing for AC Milan.
The injury ended his World Cup dreams last year and he admits that at times he thought he playing career could be at an end.
"As positive a person as I am when I did the injury there are doubts that go through your mind. Am I ever going to play again?" he told
Sky Sports News.
Serious injury
"Being back out there and being fit again and with the team it makes it sweet.
"When you have a serious injury like this it does cross your mind."
Beckham played for the final 20 minutes of Galaxy's 3-1 win over Columbus Crew and the former England skipper remains hopeful he will still be in the international frame.
"I'd like to be available to play for England," he continued.
"If I'm fit then I'm sure the (England) manager will consider me."
