Striker to stay focused on Bolton
Kevin Davies has admitted it would be 'absolutely amazing' to keep his place in the England squad.
The Bolton striker made his international debut in the recent draw against Montenegro when he came on as a substitute at Wembley.
But at the age of 33 it is unclear how much of a part he will play in the national team's future.
Fabio Capello has made it clear that he will take a look at some younger players in the friendly clash with France on 17th November but was in attendance at the Reebok Stadium on Saturday as Davies produced a superb performance against Tottenham.
He scored twice in a 4-2 victory and proved a handful for the Spurs defence all afternoon, with manager Owen Coyle later championing his case for another England call-up.
Confidence
Davies hopes to be selected but admits his main focus is just on playing well for the Trotters.
"I am pleased that I helped us win the game, that is the most important thing," he said.
"We will see what happens when the squad is announced. It will be absolutely amazing (if selected). If not then I will keep doing what I am doing for Bolton."
Davies believes Bolton can now build on their win against Tottenham when they face Everton at Goodison Park in midweek.
"It is important we go on a bit of a run now," he said. "We have difficult games coming up but this performance against Tottenham has given us a big lift. We are growing in confidence."
