England skipper does not agree with tiredness 'excuse'
John Terry disagrees with Fabio Capello's opinion that tiredness played a part in England's disappointing performance against Switzerland.
Capello stated after Saturday's 2-2 draw at Wembley that his players had 'lacked energy' going into the closing stages after a long domestic season.
Terry, who has played 50 games in total this term, does not believe fatigue should be used as an excuse for what went wrong.
"We're certainly not going to come out here and use an excuse like that," said the England skipper.
"We've had 50, 60 games this year so another game's not going to make any difference at all."
Back on track
The 30-year-old is now looking forward to a holiday ahead of next season's exertions and recognises that England have to get back on track in their remaining three games.
"We get three-four weeks off now, so go away, have a couple of weeks off and get going again," he said.
"We need to get going again and pick up a win after this."
Montenegro failed to make the most of England's slip-up as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Bulgaria later on Saturday, leaving the Three Lions top of Group G on goal difference.
England's trip to Podgorica to face Montenegro later in the year therefore looks like deciding the group.
Terry said: "Absolutely - it was always looking like that anyway."
