Full-back delighted to be part of Capello's plans
Tottenham Hotspur full-back Kyle Walker believes he has a 'massive opportunity' to establish himself in the England side against Holland on Wednesday.
Walker is vying with Micah Richards and Phil Jagielka to start on the right side of defence in midweek after an impressive last season out on loan.
The 21-year-old enjoyed time at Queens Park Rangers during the first half of the campaign before catching the eye in the Premier League with Aston Villa.
He admits he is now living his dream by being in the same England squad as players he had looked up to and hopes to make his debut against the Netherlands.
"I'm delighted to be here with the likes of John Terry and Rio Ferdinand," said Walker.
"These are the guys I've been watching and it's an honour to be around them.
"I think it's a massive opportunity. Hopefully I can get my start and go from there really.
"It's not really my choice to name the team but I'd like to think I was in contention."
Walker has also backed Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley, who he played alongside for England Under 21s, to have an impact in the senior squad.
He said: "Tom's a great player. We saw yesterday (in the Community Shield) what he can do on the ball.
"He can deliver a ball, he's very good at crossing and very good at passing."
Walker welcomed the inclusion of Cleverley and his United team-mate Danny Welbeck - another England Under-21 player - in the squad.
He added: "It's good to have familiar faces around."
