Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley is hoping he has a busy summer ahead of him, with Euro 2012 or the Olympics in his sights.
The youngster missed out on his full England debut in Wednesday's friendly defeat against Holland this week due to an ankle injury.
But he looks firmly on course to be involved with the senior squad at the European Championships this summer.
And while he wants to be involved at Poland and Ukraine, he would also welcome the opportunity to feature for Team GB at the Olympics
"As a footballer you like to experience new things during your career and the Olympics would be different," he told
Sky Sports News.
Exciting summer
"For a young English player it is an exciting summer with the Euros and the Olympics.
"It is one of my aims [to play for England] and it is my target, but first thing first is to get fit and help Manchester United win the league."
Cleverley admits he was not happy to miss out on playing against Holland on Wednesday at Wembley.
"Bad luck seems to come round whenever there is an international, but as long as I get some good form from now to the end of the season then I am confident I can still achieve that," he said.
And Cleverley is also a big fan of Stuart Pearce, the current England caretaker boss and the man who could be in line to take charge at Euro 2012.
"He is a fantastic manager I have been on numerous trips with him on the U21s and he is a good manager," he added.
