Frank Lampard believes the uncertainty over who will lead England into Euro 2012 will not affect the squad's chances.
England have been without a manager since Fabio Capello resigned from the post in February, but Lampard thinks the squad can have a successful campaign in Poland and Ukraine, whoever is finally chosen to take charge.
He told UEFA.com: "The important thing in this situation is that you've got the ability in the squad and in the players and I believe we have that.
"So, for me, I don't think it makes much difference. It'll only be us who can dictate what difference it makes by playing well."
Positive
Despite the tournament being just over a month away, the FA have yet to name a successor, with Stuart Pearce still acting as caretaker manager. But Lampard believes this could even be a positive.
He continued: "Managers sometimes leave at times you don't expect them to. Can it be a negative because we've lost a manager and we lose our way, or can it be positive because whoever comes into lead us galvanises the team and it goes very well? We've seen that happen so many times."
Last
The Chelsea midfielder, who will be 34 in June, admits that this could be his final chance to win a trophy with England.
He said: "It's realistically going to be one of my last tournaments. I'd love to be part of an England squad that goes there and starts well and looks like we can go all the way, and hopefully then my part can be big in that and I can help the team.
"I've been in England squads in tournaments before where you feel a real bandwagon, where the fans are getting excited, you're getting good results, the team's playing well, you feel you can go and win it.
"And then I've been in tournaments where it stutters, and whether you're playing regularly or you're just in the hotel in the squad, the feeling isn't there."
Youngsters
Lampard believes the new wave of youngsters coming through the international scene can bring success to the country.
"It's something we needed as a country," he continued.
"It needed these young boys to come through. They've shown great ability and great talent. This is something that the fans wanted to see.
"It brings a lot of youth and energy into the team, and it was something that was certainly required for us as a group.
"Those players will be the present and the future of England."
