Women's football: Leah Williamson scores in England's 3-1 win over Switzerland

Leah Williamson got some welcome penalty practice in England’s 3-1 European Women’s U19 qualifying 3-1 win against Switzerland ahead of this evening’s bizarre replay against Group 2 Norway.
Williamson scored from the spot either side of goals from Chelsea Ladies midfielder Jenna Dear as England beat Switzerland in what was supposed to be their final group game before this summer’s tournament in Israel.
But they take to the field again at 9.45pm this evening to play the remainder of Saturday’s game against Norway, which saw referee Marija Kurtes disallow a converted injury-time England penalty for encroachment before incorrectly awarding a free-kick to Norway.
The Football Association appealed to UEFA on the basis that the laws of the game had been applied incorrectly, and in an unprecedented ruling, European football’s governing body ordered the game resume with the penalty.
Norway were 8-1 winners over Northern Ireland to consolidate second place in the group. Should England miss the penalty and subsequently lose when their match with Norway resumes they will finish second and will likely miss out on qualification altogether for Euro 2015.
