Jake Forster-Caskey claims England U21s have the ability, confidence and togetherness to win the European Championships in the Czech Republic.
The Brighton midfielder says the team are brimming with confidence ahead of their fifth straight appearance in the finals.
England have failed to advance from the group stages in the last two European Championships but Forster-Caskey believes an embarrassing early exit can be avoided this time.
"I believe we can win it," he said. "I think everybody believes that we can win it. We're all full of confidence and we're training well. I think anything can happen.
"We've got some great individuals here, the likes of Harry Kane and other players that have been to the first team and come back down.
"We've got some great players and great team spirit, so hopefully that takes us far in the tournament."
England begin their campaign in Thursday's Group B opener against Portugal, who they beat them 3-1 when the sides last met in a friendly at Turf Moor last November.
But Forster-Caskey is refusing to look get carried away by that result, saying: "I think the game will be different," he said.
"I think they had a couple of players missing and we had a few players missing as well.
"The game will be different and it is tournament football, it is not like a friendly so we'll go into that game with some different names and different ambitions, but hopefully the same outcome."
