Future Scots earn Turkish draw

SCOTLAND'S 'Future Team' claimed a creditable 1-1 draw against a Turkey 'B' XI in Antalya.

The Scottish selection included Don Hutchison who was looking to gain some much-needed match practice, and the West Ham midfielder wasted a glorious chance to put his side ahead inside the first minute.

However, Bradford's Andy Gray made amends after 18 minutes, firing home after a flick-on from Sunderland's Kevin Kyle.

Turkey enjoyed the lion's share of possession throughout the clash however, and drew level eight minutes before the interval.

Middlebrough's Robbie Stockdale was at fault, as his poor back-pass was pounced on by Eris who comfortably beat Paul Gallagher from 15 yards.

West Ham's recent signing from Arsenal, David Noble, came on as a substitute for the Scots after 65 minutes.

The youngster is eligible to represent both England and Scotland, and his appearance will not change that as the game was not considered an official international fixture.

Berti Vogts will be pleased with another encouraging performance from his 'Future Team' troops, who drew 3-3 in Germany in their last outing.
