Alex Bruce has told Sky Sports of his delight at the prospect of lining up for Northern Ireland against Portugal

Alex Bruce has told Sky Sports that he is delighted to be involved with Northern Ireland ahead of their World Cup qualifier with Portugal.

Bruce insisted he did not want to be drawn into any conversation about his switch from the Republic to Northern Ireland. "I don't want to get drawn into that side of things, the media will ask but I hadn't played for the Republic for five years, and they were friendlies," he said. "I have family on both sides of the border, which is how I qualify so I just want to get on with things."
